To Tell A Folly

Filed under: Fake News @ 9:20 pm

No one saw it coming. And suddenly, it was gone.

It sounded too good to be true. It was. The earth suddenly yawned and swallowed him up, never to be seen again by the walking daylights of Moor. But who could stop the personification of all non-living objects nearby? This was Pandora’s box, yet it wasn’t.

“What’s happening to me?” screamed Tamesis Lucien from his bedroom window, “Is that… a giant three? No! Get away from me! OMG NOT MEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!”

Signs warped into hedges, the moon turned yellow and Taylor Swift, walking peacefully by a tree, vanished underground, the last whispers of Love Story bouncing into nothingness. Starla couldn’t stand that, so she screamed and suddenly, there was nothing.

“This is the one day I’m allowed to tell, and here I am, telling. Don’t worry, you’ll soon turn into pickles,” Starla announced. Shortly after, the moon turned grey and noon arrived. “I need to warn you, though, that’s not the worst part….”

The strange, green object flew across the highway and landed in what appeared to be a puddle of water. However, the water started fizzling and suddenly, it turned purple and started to shimmer out of existence.

Her hedges confirm the story: She put it in the food. “I’d be afraid if I were you. Remember how much you like water, because soon, you won’t need it anymore.”

It is Saturday the 21st. The day of bad luck.[1] And, for some people, other things. This morning, at 9 o’clock, Starla Insigna announced that she was a witch[2].

Sometimes, you can know something, and forget it ever existed.

  1. Okay, I actually wrote this story for Friday the 13th but I was laaaazy and………… :) []
  2. I am so sorry, but I’m so terribly addicted to Sabrina and “To Tell A Mortal” is just such a good episode []

  1. I think this actually is very dramatic, and it's also very good. :D It kinda has two interpretations – that Starla's a witch, or that she drugged us all! OMG :D And this is so random, and I like it. :)

  2. Really? YAY thanks! I thought it was insane, but I wanted to make it as dramatic/mysterious as possible. :)

My original idea for this story was to post it on Friday the 13th and hide it the next day, because the magic made you forget. :) If you saw the Sabrina episode I'm referencing, you'll get what I mean. And the other half, with the drugging (probably the part with the hedges was what made you think that :) ), that might turn out to be the real interpretation. :) NO ONE KNOWS. :)

  3. I like that episode. Sabrina is able to tell Harvey and Valerie that she's a witch and they'll forget the next day. A funny part of the episode is that black cats (including Salem) have the power to scare people that day.
